2018 Road Trip, Day 0
Road Trip 2018, Day 0
Yes, day ZERO.
That’s because I worked an almost-normal day today, then drove to Scranton PA just to get a head start on tomorrow’s drive to Columbus OH, one of my favorite cities to visit.
I honestly didn’t know this when I reserved my hotel, but The Loading Dock Bar & Grill is a 2-minute walk from my room and they have a lengthy tap list of interesting brews from around the country. As I hadn’t had dinner yet by the time I arrived at 8:30pm, I felt it worth a visit 😉
The place was comfortably busy but not mobbed; I grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered a beer and a chicken quesadilla (more than I could eat, as it turned out!). The first beer was a HammerHeart Brewing (Lino Lakes MN) “Olaf the Stout” and the second was a Prairie Artisan Ales (Tulsa OK) Bomb, also a stout. Both were STRONG and tasty, but two was more than enough!
Tonight’s room is in an old Quality Inn and is a bit on the small side, but I won’t be here for long so that’s OK. I took this picture from the far wall, seated in the “comfy chair:”

It will probably be Sunday before I start posting any good pictures from this trip. Tomorrow is just a driving day, heading through Pennsylvania into Ohio, a drive I’ve done many times and therefore don’t find interesting anymore. But if something strikes my fancy, I’ll definitely include it here.
Tomorrow is what I consider Day 1 of the 15 days of this trip. Hang on — it should be a fun ride!
