2019 Summer Road Trip, Day 11
That is, I assume it’s day 11 based on yesterday’s entry claiming to be day 10 …
There really isn’t much to say about today as it was rainy off and on. I started off with a leisurely breakfast and some reading, took a walk along the lake — marveling at the $1M+ vacation homes here — then headed out to get some of the bugs washed off the car. While on the way to the car wash, I checked the tire pressures on the dash gauge and discovered that one was 5 lbs low.
While in the car wash, I looked up tire places and chanced upon Reed’s Tire Service in Holland MI. What a great place! The guy behind the counter was funny, personable, and highly professional, and I was in and out in short order while enjoying some great conversation about road trips. The problem turned out to be a piece of wood that had penetrated one of the tires, but all is fine now.
Once I was done there, I took a leisurely drive south to near Battle Creek and the Territorial Brewing Company that I’ve been to twice before. See the other blog for the details on that enjoyable visit!
Along the way, I found this guy poking up from the plantings at an intersection:

Fortunately, the red light was long enough for me to grab my camera and get his picture 🙂
On the way back to the hotel, I stopped at one of the big antique marts and almost bought a clock. I’m still not sure that I won’t go back tomorrow for it, but as it isn’t exactly what I’ve wanted ever since I didn’t buy the one I DID want back many years ago, I probably will just let it go.
