Fall Trip 2024 Day 12
3 October 2024
I was on all secondary roads again today — minus a short stretch east of Cleveland when I hopped onto Rt 2 to avoid 20 more minutes of city streets — and it worked out well considering that I wasn’t in any hurry! I had the (questionable) pleasure of driving through both the Toledo and Cleveland downtowns and assorted sketchy neighborhoods (looking at you especially, Cleveland!). Again, my route was the dark blue one on this map.

Right now, I’m just shy of 2,500 miles driven on this trip and still with no costs for electricity. That record would have been broken tonight as this hotel has charging but it costs money, but I have enough “in the tank” to easily get to a known-good EA charger tomorrow where I can fill up for free. I’m still at 3.8 mi/kWh but have hopes of pushing that up to 3.9 before I’m home as I averaged almost 4.2 today.
Here are some photos from today: a lamp in my Ann Arbor hotel that I rather liked for the quality of light it produced, the EA chargers in Mentor OH, contrails in Mentor (while I charged), and the view from my hotel tonight in Madison OH (the last time I was here, the view was all dirt as that was a construction site).

I only have two days left in this trip; tomorrow night I’ll be in Syracuse NY and Saturday I’ll be home.
