2018 Road Trip, Day 10

How time flies; it’s day 10 of 15 already.

This was another long driving day, both longer and shorter than planned. I’d planned to spend the vast majority of the day on secondary roads across northern Wisconsin and Michigan, and so I did. Road construction slowed me down a lot in places, though, and road closures meant that I didn’t make it to Marquette MI as planned to visit Lake Superior.

I did make one stop along the northern shore of Lake Michigan:

My hotel for three nights is in St. Ignace MI and is actually not terribly modern, but I chose it because every room is a lakeside room with a small, private balcony. Once checked in, I sat on the balcony for a while just enjoying the cool breezes and the fantastic view:
