Spring Trip 2025, Day 6

Today was a 415 mile drive from Columbus OH to Painted Post NY and included two stops for charging, both of which locations I was at last Thursday going the other direction. The weather was cloudy with occasionally misty rain and the temperatures were generally hovering around 50º, varying a few degrees in either direction. The wind was strong from the West / Northwest all day.

Stop #1 was the IONNA Rechargery in Willoughby OH, east of Cleveland. I discovered that if you use the ChargePoint app to start the session, you’ll have a permanent record of the charging in the app. It’s also possible to navigate onscreen menus on the charger to see the details of the session, but having the permanent record in the app is perfect for me. The car had preconditioned the battery and I saw a max rate of 222 kW, going from 35-80% in 16 minutes.

Stop #2 was at the EvolveNY in Jamestown NY. As I had stopped at a brewpub in Jamestown for Second Meal™️, the car was only able to preheat the battery for about 10 minutes and it showed in the charging rate: I saw a max of 165kW and it took 21 minutes to go from 30-80%.

I arrived at my hotel with 26% remaining and am charging for free overnight so that I’ll be at 100% when I leave in the morning.

With the slightly warmer temperatures and the tailwind, I brought my trip average up to 3.0 miles/kWh. Here’s where I am tonight:
