May Trip Day 7

Today was the last day of this trip, 325 miles from Rochester NY to home in MA. The afternoon became quite windy so the car ended up averaging 3.4 miles/kWh for the overall trip rather than the 3.5 I’d been hoping for.

Overall, it was an easy day except for periodically heavy traffic — usually coinciding with one-lane construction zones — on the NY State Thruway. I charged twice, once in Herkimer where I’d stopped a month ago where I went from 48-80% in 14 minutes, and then at the outlets in Lee MA where I went from 28-80% in 17 minutes. I used 472 kWh of electricity for the 1,585 miles of this trip, and if you use the standard factor of 33.7kWh per gallon of gas (energy equivalency), that’s 14 gallons of gas, or 113 mpg.
