Summer Trip 2023 Day 17

I started the day with a view of two hot air balloons that I think were heading for a landing not far from my hotel (but I didn’t stick around long enough to find out):

The day’s drive was almost the same length as yesterday at 421 miles, most of it on secondary roads through Montana and Wyoming as I headed to Casper.

I was treated to mountains in Montana:

And there was a lot of interesting scenery – along with miles of nothing – in Wyoming. These two photos give you an idea of perhaps a tenth of the variety I saw:

Tomorrow will be my longest driving day of the trip covering close to 600 miles and a time change in the wrong direction. Today, I passed the 5,000 mile mark for the trip and I’m on track to finish the journey around 7,600 miles.
