2018 Road Trip, Day 12
I’m still in St. Ignace, still waking up to the glorious view of Lake Huron right outside my room. This morning, there were some people in the distance doing tandem parasailing:

There was no particular destination for today other than a new brewpub I hadn’t visited before, and it’s no problem at all finding one of those in Michigan! The last time I checked, there were well over 300 brewpubs in the state. And since it made sense to take a leisurely drive along the Lake Michigan coast on the way to Second Meal, that’s what I did. I only took three pictures as it all looks rather much the same after a while, not that I really get tired of looking at it:

The brewpub was at Shorts Brewery in Bellaire, and like most other small towns I’ve visited here, it was overrun with vacationers. But I arrived at the pub as the lunch crowd was thinning so had no trouble getting in. Today’s flight of beers included an “experimental” kölsch (better left as an experiment!), a standard kölsch, a wheat, a brown, and a chocolate wheat calling itself a porter. None of them were particularly wonderful, but it was still a pleasant place for lunch.

Tomorrow I drive south along the Lake Huron coast to Frankenmuth!
