Road Trip 2017 Day 12
I started the day by driving from Columbus back to Punderson State Park where I had stopped on day 2. Once again, I enjoyed the archery range and was pleasantly surprised with how well I did following yesterday’s prolonged shooting session.
This first picture is of several shots at the 50 yard target. At that distance, I couldn’t really see where the arrows were hitting, so it was almost impossible to make rational adjustments. Still, remembering that I could barely even HIT this target a year ago, I was pretty happy. (Consider the fact that I typically shoot at distances of 15-20 yards and don’t consider myself anywhere close to consistent above 30 yards.)

The second picture was of my best shot at the 80 yard target! I managed to hit that target several times and ended with a much better ratio of hits to misses than even a few days ago.

Part of the reason may be that I’m so much more relaxed at the end of these trips; at 80 yards, a movement of 1/2″ in the tip of the arrow as it is on my bow is equal to 4’ at the target.
Once I finished shooting and relaxing, I drove to Olean NY, staying off the interstates until the last 40 miles when I just wanted to get to the hotel and relax. Tomorrow, I finish this journey. Getting back to work on Wednesday will be a rude re-awakening!
