A Day in Ohio

After a lazy morning, I took off for Malabar Farm State Park, a wonderful place with lots of opportunities for photographs. I’ll leave you to look up the history of the place and its owner, Louis Bromfield, yourself, although a couple of the pictures here do have a bit of that background. Suffice it to say that the visit, including the tour of the Big House, was exceptionally worthwhile! In addition to seeing the actual buildings and animals, I walked trails through peaceful woods and visited the Mount Jeez scenic overlook which gives a spectacular overview of the entire property.

You noticed the part about Bogart and Bacall, right? Yes, I stood in the spot where they were married and even saw the bedroom where they had their honeymoon.

After spending a few hours at Malabar, I headed back to Columbus to four favorite spots: World Market (for some interesting car snacks), Northstar Cafe (for tasty and reasonably healthy food), Antrim Park (for the walk around the lake – picture below), and Graeter’s Ice Cream (a Columbus tradition!).

Tomorrow, it’s north to Michigan!
